Desert Safaris for Soma Bay Guests

A change of scene from the coast

A change of scene from the coast

Soma Bay is a sea-and-wind destination, so a trip into the desert is a real change of scene. Behind the coast, sandy tracks run towards the Red Sea Mountains. A driver collects you from your hotel and takes you to the safari start. Pick the classic quad ride of about 50 km to a Bedouin village, or the Mega Desert Safari, which mixes a quad, a two-seater dune buggy and a 4x4 Jeep in about half a day.

BBQ, show and a telescope

BBQ, show and a telescope

As the sun goes down, three safaris keep going. The Super Desert Safari and the quad safari with dinner end with a BBQ meal in a traditional setting and an Oriental show, and the stargazing safari brings out a professional telescope for the desert sky. When the program ends, your driver brings you back to the peninsula.

Camels at every stop, horses by the sea

Camels at every stop, horses by the sea

Camels are part of every safari: each one stops at a Bedouin village for a short ride and a cup of Bedouin tea. For a calmer outing, the guided horse ride follows the beach and then heads into the desert, and beginners are welcome. Age rules are on each page. Pickup in Soma Bay is included, and your time is sent on WhatsApp or Telegram.
