El Gouna: a lagoon town on the Red Sea
Picture a town built around blue lagoons and small islands, with Nubian-style houses, sandy beaches and plenty of water sports. That is El Gouna, a resort on Egypt's Red Sea coast about 20 km north of Hurghada. Its name means 'the lagoon' in Egyptian Arabic. Whether your hotel is Downtown, near Tamr Henna Square or close to Abu Tig Marina, Egypt Gate takes you from there to the reefs, the desert and the temples of ancient Egypt.
