Between Hurghada and Makadi Bay, about 18 km south of Hurghada International Airport, Sahl Hasheesh is a resort bay with a slower rhythm than its big neighbor to the north. Beach resorts line the shore, coral reefs fill the bay and Abu Hashish Island sits just off the coast. Guests stroll the long seaside promenade, sit in the cafes and restaurants of the Old Town, or look at the Sunken City, a partly submerged ruin that now works as a reef.
The sea trips start at the marina in Hurghada, north of the bay, and we drive you there from your hotel and back. Choose a beach day at Orange Bay, lunch on Mahmya or Eden Island, or quiet hours on Paradise, Bianca or Hula Hula, usually with two snorkeling stops. Dolphin House offers a good chance to see wild dolphins, beginners can try a first dive with an instructor, and private speed boats carry only your group.
Inland, the desert and the Red Sea Mountains make a great change from the beach. An automatic quad takes you to a Bedouin village for a camel ride and tea. None of them do. Most of our boat trips leave from the marina in Hurghada, to the north, while the Nefertari cruise and the Panorama semi-submarine start in Makadi Bay. The car there and back is part of the trip.
