Luxor Valley of the Kings Day Trip – Sahl Hasheesh

Luxor, on the site of ancient Thebes, is full of temples and royal tombs. This day trip from Sahl Hasheesh shows you the most famous of them. It runs on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and takes about 15 hours.

An air-conditioned vehicle collects you at your Sahl Hasheesh hotel. With you all day is a professional Egyptologist who turns old stones into stories about the pharaohs.

Karnak Temple comes first. It is among the biggest religious complexes in history, with huge columns and a sacred lake. Across the river on the West Bank, Queen Hatshepsut's temple lies below the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari.

In the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried, you walk into decorated tombs. A stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two huge statues more than 3,000 years old, and a panoramic drive around Luxor complete the day.

Your package covers lunch at a local restaurant and entry to Karnak, Hatshepsut Temple and the Valley of the Kings. For Tutankhamun's tomb and the Tomb of Ramses V and VI you need optional tickets. Drinks at lunch are extra.
