Luxor Valley of the Queens Day Trip – Sahl Hasheesh

Few places hold as many ancient monuments as Luxor, a true open-air museum on the Nile. On Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, this day trip from Sahl Hasheesh takes you to its great temples and to the tombs of Egypt's queens.

We pick you up at your Sahl Hasheesh hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Your Egyptologist tells the stories of the pharaohs and their queens along the way. Plan on about 17 hours for the whole day.

Luxor stands where Thebes, a great capital of the pharaohs, once stood. Your first stop is Karnak Temple, a giant religious complex known for its massive columns and sacred lake.

Queen Hatshepsut's temple, cut into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, comes next. Then you enter the Valley of the Queens, where Egypt buried its queens and princes. You also pause for photos at the Colossi of Memnon and see Luxor on a panoramic drive.

Lunch at a local restaurant is included, along with entry to Karnak, the Hatshepsut Temple and the Valley of the Queens. Drinks at lunch and optional activities are extra, and some tombs need their own tickets.

Tips for the day: bring your passport and Egyptian visa, walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat. You return to Sahl Hasheesh in the evening. Your pickup time depends on your hotel, and we send it by WhatsApp or Telegram after booking.
