Stargazing Desert Safari with Telescope – Soma Bay

Away from hotel lights, the desert sky is full of stars. On this evening trip, guests from Soma Bay ride a quad, meet the Bedouins, share a BBQ and then look at the planets through a professional telescope.

Departures are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at about 16:00, and the night out lasts around 5 to 6 hours. Our driver collects you at your Soma Bay hotel and brings you to the safari base, where the team gives a safety talk.

The first part is on an ATV quad, along sandy tracks under the Red Sea Mountains. After that you change to a 4x4 Jeep, which goes on to a Bedouin village. A camel ride and a glass of Bedouin tea wait for you there.

As night falls, a desert BBQ is served, and an Oriental show follows. One water and one soft drink are covered.

The last stop of the evening is the sky itself. With the city lights far behind, an expert points the telescope at stars and planets and explains what you see.

Single quad or double quad? With a single, the bike is yours alone. With a double, two guests share it, which suits one adult riding with one child.

Good to know: pack an ID or passport, closed shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses and a scarf against dust, plus a jacket in winter. Extra drinks, tips, photos, goggles and the scarf are not included. Drivers must meet the age limit. You receive the Soma Bay pickup time on WhatsApp or Telegram after booking.
