Grand Egyptian Museum & Pyramids Mini Group – Safaga

If crowds put you off, this is the Cairo trip to pick from Safaga. A mini group, never bigger than 6 guests, travels to the Grand Egyptian Museum and then to the Pyramids, all on the same day. You can join on any day of the week.

A minivan with air conditioning comes to your hotel in Safaga to collect you. It is a long road to Cairo, so the program fills about 18 hours, and you see your hotel again in the evening.

The visits open at the GEM. No other museum on the planet is this large and given to just one civilization, and its royal statues and rare objects make the long ride worthwhile. Your Egyptologist explains what you are looking at.

Then it is time for Giza, where the Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx stand. With so few people, you always hear the guide well and can stop for a photo without rushing.

The day also brings a meal at a local restaurant and a panoramic ride around Cairo. Tickets for the GEM and for the Giza Pyramids area come with the tour. Going into the pyramids, a Nile boat ride (optional) and your personal costs are on you.

Good to know: your passport and Egyptian visa must travel with you. Choose easy walking shoes, plus a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, as you walk a fair amount. Pickup times differ from hotel to hotel in Safaga, and yours reaches you on WhatsApp or Telegram after you book.
