Picture yourself in front of the Pyramids today and back by the sea in Soma Bay tonight. This Cairo excursion keeps things small: a maximum of 6 guests share one modern minivan with air conditioning. It operates every day of the week and lasts around 18 hours in total.

Your Egyptologist joins you right from the start, when the minivan stops at your Soma Bay hotel. In a group this size, conversation comes easily, so you can ask about the pharaohs long before you see their monuments.

Giza is the first goal. The famous plateau sits at the edge of the capital, and here you walk among the Great Pyramids and come close to the Great Sphinx while your guide explains what you see.

From Giza you move on to the Egyptian Museum, where room after room holds royal objects and ancient treasures. A panoramic ride across Cairo follows, and lunch is served in a local restaurant. Tickets for the museum and the Pyramids area are already part of the trip.

Three things are not covered: a ticket to enter the Great Pyramid itself, the Nile boat ride (optional) and your own spending.

Practical tips: the road between Soma Bay and Cairo is long, and the sightseeing involves moderate walking. Carry your passport and Egyptian visa, and wear shoes that are easy to walk in.
