Cairo by Plane: Pyramids & Egyptian Museum – Soma Bay

Cairo is far from the Red Sea by road, so this trip flies. Guests staying in Soma Bay fly to the capital, see the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, and are back by the sea the same night. The tour operates daily and lasts around 16 hours.

First, our driver brings you from your Soma Bay hotel to Hurghada International Airport, about 45 km to the north. After the domestic flight, your Egyptologist is waiting in Cairo with a private car with air conditioning.

On the Giza Plateau, the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure rise in front of you, the one ancient wonder that has survived. Your guide explains who built them, then walks with you to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple.

After a meal in a local Egyptian restaurant, the Egyptian Museum is next, with its statues, royal treasures and archaeological discoveries.

The day includes your flights, airport transfers, lunch, bottled water, taxes and service charges, and the entry tickets for the Pyramids area and the museum. Not covered: a ticket into the Great Pyramid, drinks at lunch, tips and personal spending.

Practical tips: a valid passport or other accepted ID is needed to board. Airlines set the flight times, and the order of the day can shift with flight schedules or traffic. Bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses for Giza. After landing, we drive you back to your Soma Bay hotel.
