No dive license needed: Safaga guests snorkel coral reefs off the islands, at Dolphin House or from a speed boat.
Safaga is a diving town, yet some of the most relaxed snorkeling around is at the islands off Hurghada. On the yacht trips to Orange Bay, Mahmya, Paradise, Eden, Bianca and Hula Hula Island you get two reef stops, snorkeling equipment and an hour on the beach in between. Life jackets help anyone who is unsure in deep water. The day starts with a drive from your hotel to the boat.
At Dolphin House you snorkel two reefs in waters where wild dolphins often swim, with lunch on board. If snorkeling makes you curious about more, the scuba boat offers two dives at two reefs with PADI instructors, open to beginners and certified divers, and one Orange Bay trip includes an optional first dive. The Elite VIP boat, the pirate sailing boat and the two-island Orange Bay and Magawish day also stop to snorkel.
For your own schedule, book a private speed boat to Dolphin House, Orange Bay, Magawish or Hula Hula, with your own captain and roughly four hours on the water. The private glass bottom boat takes up to 8 people and adds a reef stop. Gear is on most boats, but not on the pirate and VIP boats, so check each page.
