Luxor Valley of the Kings Day Trip – Makadi Bay

Ancient Thebes, today's Luxor, is the goal of this full-day trip from Makadi Bay. In one day you see royal tombs on the West Bank and one of the biggest temple complexes ever built. Departures: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

We pick you up at your hotel in Makadi Bay. An Egyptologist guide rides with you in the air-conditioned vehicle and brings the history to life. Count on about 15 hours for the whole day, with your return in the evening.

The visits begin at Karnak Temple, known for its tall columns and sacred lake. Next is Queen Hatshepsut's temple, which sits below the high Deir el-Bahari cliffs.

Across the river, the Valley of the Kings was the burial ground of Egypt's pharaohs in the New Kingdom, and you go inside some of its decorated tombs. A photo stop at the two giant Colossi of Memnon, over 3,000 years old, and a panoramic tour of Luxor are also part of the day.

Your tickets to Karnak, Hatshepsut Temple and the Valley of the Kings are included, as well as lunch in a local restaurant. For Tutankhamun's tomb and the Tomb of Ramses V and VI you need optional tickets. Drinks at lunch, personal expenses and tips are not included.
