The classic safari is the simplest way for Makadi Bay guests to try desert riding. An air-conditioned vehicle collects you at your hotel and takes you to the safari station. After a safety briefing and a helmet, you ride an automatic quad on a route of about 50 km, roughly 25 km out and 25 km back, to a Bedouin village. There, a camel ride and a cup of Bedouin tea are waiting, and the route is easy enough for first-time riders.
Quad riders who want more can step up. The Mega Desert Safari puts you on a dune buggy and in a 4x4 Jeep as well, while the Super Desert Safari combines all three with a BBQ dinner and an Oriental show. The quad safari with dinner keeps the 50 km quad route and ends the day at the dinner and show. For the night sky, the stargazing safari closes with a professional telescope, far from the resort lights.
Each safari lets you ride alone on a single quad or share a double quad, a good choice when 1 adult rides with 1 child.
