Stargazing Desert Safari with Telescope – Sahl Hasheesh

When the sun goes down, the desert behind the Red Sea coast shows a sky full of stars. This stargazing safari lets guests in Sahl Hasheesh enjoy a quad ride, Bedouin culture and dinner, and then look at the night sky through a professional telescope.

Three evenings a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the trip sets off at around 16:00. Count on 5 to 6 hours in total. We pick you up at your hotel in Sahl Hasheesh, and at the start point the team runs through the safety rules.

First comes the action: an ATV quad ride on sandy tracks at the foot of the Red Sea range. A 4x4 Jeep then carries you on to a Bedouin village, where a camel is waiting and the tea is poured.

Dinner is a desert BBQ, with an Oriental show after the meal. One bottle of water and one soft drink come with the trip.

Then comes the best part of the evening. Far from any city lights, an expert guides you across the clear sky and helps you find stars and planets with the telescope.

Single or double? A single quad is all yours, while a double quad is shared by two, ideal for 1 adult with 1 child.

Good to know: pack a passport or photo ID, closed shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a scarf for the dust and, in winter, a jacket. Not included: the scarf and goggles, other drinks, photos and tips. Minimum age rules apply to drivers.
