Stargazing Desert Safari with Telescope – Safaga

Few things beat a clear desert sky after dark. On this night safari for guests in Safaga, you ride a quad, travel by 4x4 Jeep to a Bedouin village, have dinner and then look at the stars through a professional telescope.

Departures are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at about 16:00, and the trip lasts about 5 to 6 hours. After pickup at your Safaga hotel, we bring you to the safari station, where a short safety briefing comes first.

The first part is on an ATV quad bike, following desert trails at the foot of the Red Sea Mountains. A 4x4 Jeep then carries the group to a traditional Bedouin village for a camel ride and Bedouin tea.

A BBQ dinner is served in the desert, with an Oriental show after it, and each guest gets one bottle of water and one soft drink. Then the telescope comes out. With no city lights around, the sky is clear, and expert guidance helps you spot stars and planets.

Quad choice: single, with one guest per bike for the whole safari, or double, with two guests sharing a bike, ideal for 1 adult with 1 child.

What to bring: passport or photo ID, closed shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a scarf for the dust and, in winter, a jacket. Not included are the scarf and goggles, extra drinks, photos and tips.
