Mega Desert Safari: Quad, Buggy, Jeep & Camel – El Gouna

Want to try every desert vehicle in one afternoon? This mega safari for guests in El Gouna puts you on an automatic quad, in a dune buggy and in a 4x4 Jeep, then ends with a camel ride and Bedouin tea.

Our air-conditioned car picks you up at your El Gouna hotel and heads to the safari station. Trips leave every day at about 12:00, and you are out for about 4 to 5 hours. Before the ride, the team hands out safety gear and explains the rules.

Stage one is the quad: about 40 to 45 minutes of riding with the Red Sea Mountains above you. Stage two is a 15-minute buggy ride; the buggies seat two, so couples and families love it. For stage three, your guide drives you further out in a 4x4 Jeep.

The last stop is a traditional Bedouin village. Here you sit on a camel and drink Bedouin tea with bread baked fresh. One bottle of water and one soft drink come with the trip; other drinks, photos, tips, the scarf and goggles are extra.

Quad options: on a single quad you have a bike to yourself the whole time. On a double quad, two guests ride together on one bike, a good choice when 1 adult rides with 1 child.

Good to know: keep your passport or another photo ID with you. Closed shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must, and a scarf keeps the dust away. Quad drivers need to meet the minimum age, and children ride as the operator's rules allow.
